This or that: comfort rewatch vs something new tonight

The home screen is a trap. Tonight you only need one decision: soft familiar, or a first episode of something new.

Pick a lane

Comfort rewatch: You already know the jokes land

Something new: One pilot, then decide

Low plot anxiety: Procedural / contest / sitcom loops

Okay with a mystery hook: You’ll tolerate unanswered questions

Background-friendly: Folding laundry energy

Full attention: Phone face-down

The Great British Bake Off — gentle competition, soft stakes, excellent rain-on-window energy.
Parks and Recreation — optimistic workplace comedy; easy to drop into almost any episode.
Ted Lasso (early seasons especially) — earnest sports comedy about trying to be decent.

Severance — high-concept workplace mystery; best with full attention.
Reservation Dogs — coming-of-age comedy-drama with a strong sense of place; start at episode one.
Only Murders in the Building — cozy-adjacent whodunit with comedy timing; easy on-ramp.
